English: Routemaster bus RM848 (reg. 448 UXS ex-WLT 848) was delivered to London Transport in June 1961, registered as WLT 848. It was used in London until withdrawal in December 1985. In 1986 it saw further use in the Blackpool Transport fleet (522) and then the Reading Mainline fleet (40). In 2000 it was one of a batch of buses bought back by London Bus Services Ltd, being rebuilt and re-engined (Scania) by Marshall's of Cambridge, for further use in London. It went into operation on route 9 for London United Busways, a part of Transdev London, based out of Fulwell Garage (FW). In September 2004 it was returned to LBSL after the final withdrawal of Routemasters from route 9. In February 2005 it was re-allocated to Arriva London for use on route 38. When that route was converted in October 2005, it was withdrawn for a final time. While in storage it was re-registered as 448 UXS, before being sold in May 2006. In September 2006 it was sold to an Art Warehouse based in Weybridge, who used it as a promotional vehicle. In July 2007 it was bought for preservation and vintage private hire usage, as Dave's Buses. For that role, the bus has been restored into its as refurbished condition of 2001, wearing London United / Transdev logos. [1]
