Midsummer is a special time in Sweden and many other northern countries. Midsummer is celebrated slightly differently in different cultures but always with emphasis on summer, sun, life and joy. Old and young dancing around the maypole highlights the middle of the day of midsummer eve while the festivities often carry on into late night taking advantage of the long, light midsummer days and short nights.

The following is a collection of photographs of midsummer eve festivities on the island of Möja, a popular visitors destination in the outer Stockholm archipelago.
