English: The Harlequin livery worn by buses operated by Lothian Buses. Introduced in Summer 1999 (the last year of Lothian's predecessor, Lothian Region Transport), there were two versions, the first being replaced by a simpler, less randomised pattern of squares. It was used to highlight the new low-floor buses entering the fleet, with the step-entrance buses remaining in the long standing madder & white livery. Post-LRT, most buses wore the Lothian fleetname, with some Optare Solos being 'Mac Tours' initially. It was during the Harlequin period that various route branding schemes began to appear (unbranded buses only shown here). By 2009 the last madder/white liveried step-entrance bus had been withdrawn - in 2010 the company re-introduced the traditional colours with Classic livery.
