@Hannolans, what do you think of [1]? czar 15:15, 13 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The file is from the official promotion channel and most of their videos are labeled CC-BY like this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vVZ-bHuEvOY They are film professionals and know exactly what they are doing when it comes to licensing and copyright. I also see no harm when producers release their trailers as CC-BY, actually, it would be best practice to release their trailers and film posters as CC-BY. As long as they don't release their full movie in CC-BY (if that was the case I think we should contact them to double check), but this is just promotion material. --Hannolans (talk) 19:53, 13 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Hannolans, when I originally reviewed it, I assessed it as an official promotional channel too, but looking at it now, it looks like a promotional channel and not necessarily an official one. I've contacted plenty of publishers to release their works as cc-by so no need to convince there, but I am asking what about this channel gives you the impression that it is a promotional entity that was granted the rights from the producers to publish this work (for instance) as cc-by when exact duplicates of the trailer on the producer's actual official channel do not bear the same license? czar 18:55, 16 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I think I made the assumption that it is the official channel as in the video's is written "Like us on Facebook -http://www.facebook.com/TheWolverineMovie Follow us on Twitter - @WolverineMovie", those are verified accounts. We can check if those accounts mention the YouTube videos of that channel in their posts. If so, we may assume that it is the official channel. --Hannolans (talk) 21:59, 16 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
At least one of the youtube videos of the channel is used on their official website: http://www.thewolverinemovie.com/livechat/ . More importantly after further inspection, in the upper left corner you see the YouTube symbol and a link to the youtube channel that contains the CC-BY trailers. --Hannolans (talk) 22:15, 16 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I hear you, but any YT channel can link to official social media. I think that livechat link is sufficient for showing that it is affiliated. Where did you see this upper-left link, though? Not showing for me but perhaps because I have annotations off somewhere? czar 16:18, 17 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Yes I am aware. You can see the link from the official website to the YouTube channel on this page: http://www.thewolverinemovie.com/livechat/ Upper left corner reads "Visit us on Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Google Plus" with the YouTube link to the channel. --Hannolans (talk) 16:49, 17 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
