Remove Colombia[edit]

Please remove Colombia from the "jus soli" color. Colombia is not jus soli. --24.130.146.226 07:37, 18 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Include Malaysia & Singapore in restricted jus soli[edit]

Malaysia is mentioned as being restricted jus soli in the article. Singapore is also restricted jus soli — Preceding unsigned comment was added by 2001:E68:5434:FB33:1C03:A96A:7037:847D (talk) 07:01, 22 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Remove Suriname[edit]

Colombia should be colored different[edit]

The Republic of Colombia should have a color similar to France as they both have a "Modified system". -- Sion8 (talk) 07:07, 18 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Greece[edit]

Greece does have provisions for acquirement of Greek citizenship with jus soli, with the Law 4332/2015, which amended the Greek nationality law of 2004: Article 1A (among other provisions), “child born in Greece by foreign nationals is granted the Greek citizenship if he / she successfully complete elementary school (6 years), or if the parents lawfully resided Greece for the last 5 continuous years”. So, parents- non-Greek citizenship + child born in Greece acquires Greek citizenship under conditions = jus solis under conditions = modified system. original text of the Law, English translation. Chile[edit]

Why is Chile colored as a modified jus soli nation? The Chilean constitution does in fact provide automatic citizenship to those born with Chilean territory. 207.98.196.125 04:42, 30 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Up to 2014 the Chilean Constitution was wrongly interpreted as saying that the child of two illegal immigrants wasn't a Chilean. This was changed by administrative decree and now Chile has automatic citizenship. [1] 167.107.191.217 22:08, 31 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Portugal[edit]

@Renamed user qoTkZBdUBi Add Portugal to jus solis. A person born to foreign parents who were not serving their respective States at the time of birth is a Portuguese citizen if the person declares that they want to be Portuguese and provided that one of the parents has resided in Portugal for at least one years at the time of birth.--DiogoBaptista (talk) 20:34, 1 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Latvia[edit]

Would it be possible for someone to update the map to include Latvia? I have updated the article on the English Wikipedia to address Latvia's situation. Jjj1238 (talk) 22:04, 19 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
