Degraded quality

May I know why was the resolution of the video lowered? The result is unfortunately a blurred picture. The original video has probably doubled pixels so if there was need to lower the resolution it should have been half of the original resolution. I am also wondering why there is only a direct link to the media file on NASA's web. There is no description page there? Last strange thing is that the Cortado Java player shows the video with lowered contrast (what is supposed to be black is not black but grey).
