How are most of the colours[edit]

how are "most of the colours visible to the human eye out of the gamut" of this image? The image shows the entire rgb cube, i.e. the full range of colours that can be displayed on a computer monitor, just in steps of 1% instead of the 1/255 steps of 24 bit colour space. I find it difficult to picture a "gamut" visible to the human eye but impossible to render on a modern monitor. --92.104.183.65 12:58, 13 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Computer monitors can display only a small range of the colours the human eye can see. Jaho (talk) 05:23, 2 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
No, this does not show all colors. There are 256^3 = 16M colors available. --Ysangkok (talk) 00:24, 23 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Mis-registered blue color plane[edit]

The current (23:44, 10 February 2013) version of the file has an error. THe blue color plane is offset one pixel up and one pixel to the left. That causes a duplication of about 1800 colors. I am not able to replace this file, so I uploaded a new file at https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Megacolor.png If someone would like to verify my finding and modify this file I will then delete the other.
