Nederlands: WOUDRICHEM - Op een zomerse dag is het heerlijk vertoeven op het strandje in Woudrichem, maar wanneer de bezoekers huiswaarts keren blijft er een probleem, namelijk het zwerfvuil. Jos Korthout wil daar een einde aan maken.
Het oprapen van zwerfvuil is niet het liefste wat hij doet, maar hij kan het haast niet laten. Het is zo storend voegt hij toe. ‘’Het waait nog weleens in dit land, en dan komt het in het water terecht en drijft het af naar zee, ra ra waar dat blijft, de plastic soep’’. Met een steeds groeiende club mensen hoopt Jos het strandje schoon te houden. Maar het zou nog mooier zijn als men bewust wordt van het probleem en het afval zelf opruimt door het in de daarvoor bestemde afvalbakken te gooien of het mee naar huis te nemen. In september wordt het nog grootschaliger aangepakt. Met het project ‘zorg voor je omgeving’, een educatie en integratieproject, is de bedoeling dat het schoonhouden van de omgeving gecombineerd wordt met het bewust worden van de natuur. Daarnaast is het doel om mensen met een achterstand op de arbeidsmarkt zinvol vrijwilligerswerk te bieden. Wie Jos en zijn team wil helpen kan zich zaterdag om 11.15 uur melden bij de ingang van de camping nabij de historische haven van Woudrichem.
