العربية: رسمٌ مُظلل لِشبه جزيرة يوكاتان بالمكسيك يُظهرُ الانخفاض البسيط، لكن الواضح للعيان، بِسبب الاصطدام الكُويكبي في منطقة تشيكسولوب. يتَّفقُ مُعظم العُلماء اليوم أنَّ هذا الاصطدام الكُويكبي كان السبب الرئيسي وراء حدث انقراض العصر الطباشيري - الثُلاثي، وهو الحدث الذي وقع مُنذ 65 مليون سنة وتسبب في انقراض الديناصورات وأغلب أشكال الحياة على الكُرة الأرضيَّة. |
