Description
Español: Cultivado en la colección del CICA de tuberosas altoandinas, originalmente colectado en 1990 por un colector anónimo en estado silvestre en la Provincia de Paruro (Departamento de Cusco). Es una planta conocida en Paruro como añu silvestre y se utilizan los tubérculos para el control de la polilla en la casa y del gorgojo de la papa en el almacén. Crece en asociación con el p'ati, que es un árbol de las Bombacaceas común en la zona semi-árida de Paruro alrededor de 2900 m de altura. Es material afine al añu cultivado, los tubérculos suculentos son de color blanco-cremoso con una matiz rosada en la parte apical, tienen olor y sabor picante parecido al añu cultivado. Plantas muy productivas en tubérculos. El follaje ya esta muerto. La siembra se efectuó en octubre 1990.

Originalmente colectado en la Provincia de Cusco, Fierroccata, campo experimental de la Granja K'ayra de la Universidad de Cusco, a aproximadamente 5 km de San Jerónimo hacia Paruro, 13o33'S, 71o55'W, alt. 3500·m.
