Description
Deutsch: Kriegerehrenmal "liegender Krieger" von Hermann Hosaeus (1875-1958) an der Hauptstraße in Wanne-Süd. Eingeweiht 1934, Hintergrundinformationen: [1], Darstellung: liegender deutscher Stoßtruppsoldat des Ersten Weltkriegs mit Stahlhelm, Grabenmantel, ins Erdreich gestoßenem Feldspaten und um die Schulter hängendem Bandolier. Die wegen Verwitterung und Abplatzungen zum Teil unlesbar gewordene Inschrift zwischen den Jahreszahlen 1914-1918 lautet(e): Des Feindes Erde in fester Hand / So schützten wir Volk einst und Vaterland / Den Tapferen zur Ehre / und unsern Gefallenen zum / Gedenken
