Description
English: Head-piece to the book of Judges. Judges 4:21, 7:16, 9:53, 15:5, 16:3. Vignette with a broken door with bolt lying on the ground, a head of a dead man protruding at right, a shield at left; letterpress in two columns below and on verso. 1792. Inscriptions: Lettered below image with production detail: "P. J. de Loutherbourg del vide Ch 4 v 21; Ch 7, v 16; Ch 9, v 53; Ch 15, v 5, v 16, v 3", "J Landseer Aqua Forti fecit" and publication line: "Published Novr. 10 1792, by T Macklin No. 79 Fleet Street London". Print made by John Landseer. Dimensions: height: 470 millimetres; width: 384 millimetres.
