Porträt Joseph Anselm von Feuerbach (1798-1851), Archäologe und Philosoph. Feuerbach ist als Amsel mit Porträtkopf dargestellt. Neben dem Titel "Anselm v. Feuerbach" und einem Vers unter dem Bild, ist der linke Rand der Zeichnung mit einem großen und einem kleinen "A" versehen. - nachträglich mit einem Kreuz hinter dem Titel/Namen versehen - hinter dem Titel und Kreuz ist der Eintrag "Professor in Freiburg" nachträglich angefügt - nachträglicher Eintrag neben dem Titel/Namen (links): "Sohn" [Bildunterschrift] Die Amsel fein und artig ist/ Weil aus der Hand das Thierchen frisst.Biografisches Joseph Anselm von Feuerbach (1798–1851) war Archäologe und Philosoph. Sein Vater, Paul Johann Anselm von Feuerbach, gilt als Begründer der Strafrechtswissenschaft in Deutschland. Der Sohn wurde Professor in Freiburg. Sein Studium begann er 1816/17 in Erlangen, wechselte 1820 allerdings nach Heidelberg und wählte dort die Studienfächer Alte Sprachen, Archäologie und Kunstgeschichte. (1) In erster Ehe war Joseph Anselm von Feuerbach mit Amalie Keer (1805–1830), der Tochter des Ansbacher Appellationsgerichtspräsidenten, verheiratet. Aus dieser Ehe stammt auch der bekannte Maler Anselm von Feuerbach (1829–1880). Nach dem Tod Amalies 1830 vermählte sich der Archäologe mit Henriette Heydenreich (1812–1892), der Tochter des Ansbacher Pfarrers. Joseph Anselm von Feuerbachs schlechter Gesundheitszustand erforderte verschiedene Kuraufenthalte, u.a. 1820 in Karlsbad. Dort lernte er Elisa von der Recke und die Herzogin von Kurland kennen. Trotz gesundheitlicher Probleme unternahm er viele Studienreisen, vor allem nach Italien. Sein bekanntestes Werk, „Der vaticanische Apollo. Eine Reihe archäologisch-ästhetischer Betrachtungen“, erschien 1833 in Nürnberg. (2) 1 Flashar, Martin: Ein ausgebrannter Vulkan. Zum 150.
