Description 961008-N-1214S-002 Boston, Mass. (Oct. 8, 2002) -- The U.S. Navy’s sailing ship USS Constitution, the world’s oldest commissioned warship, will celebrate her 199th Anniversary on October 21st, 1996, at her home port at Boston Harbor, where the ship was first built nearly 200 years ago. With a12 million dollar, 5 year overhaul almost complete, Constitution and her crew plan to set sailin 1997 to celebrate her 200th anniversary.
