Transparent [[projected capacitance keypad]] used as a touchscreen.

| Description |
English: In 1987 this transparent, projected capacitance keypad was used as a touchscreen for operation through thick glass or double glazing. A clear polyester film, coated with transparent Indium Tin Oxide, was etched to form a keypad with 16 independent touch sensing zones. There were 5 zones down the left edge and another 5 zones down the right edge. The middle area was completely filled with three zones, side by side, in the top half and another three zones, side by side, in the bottom half. This configuration enabled the selection of 5 separate items vertically and 5 items horizontally around the edges of the screen. |
