Tallrik i imarifärgerna, 1770-1775.
Nyckelord: Tallrik, Kinesiskt porslin, Fat, Föremålsbild, Imari, 1770-tal
Description
Svenska: TALLRIK,18 st. Pronks mönster förblev dock populära och reproducerades ofta under senare år.Litt.:William R. Sargent Treasures of Chinese Export Ceramics From the Peabody Essex Museum (2012), No.143Eighteen porcelain plates decorated in underglaze blue, overglaze red and gildingQing dynasty, c.1770-75In 1734 the Dutch East India Company commissioned artist Cornelis Pronk (1691-1759) to produce drawings for sets of Chinese plates. He produced four patterns, among which this one of two ladies with a parasol was most popular. The designs were copied in China in blue-and-white, famille rose and (as here) in Imari colours, and sold for extremely high prices in Europe. The Dutch East India Company ended the contract in 1740, because production and shipping proved too expensive. However, Pronk’s designs remained popular and were often reproduced in later years.
