Description
Русский: Фиолент, Крым. Шторм на Черном море.
English: Fiolent, Crimea, Black Sea. The rock formations around Cape Fiolent of Heracles Peninsula are ophiolites lifted from ancient crust of back-arc basin. Parts of Heracles Peninsula in Crimea are of ancient Jurassic origin. Upper Miocene lava and carbonate intrusions on heavily eroded Jurassic foundation.
This object is located on the Crimean Peninsula and recognized as a protected area by both Russia and Ukraine under the ID: 9210006 / 85-363-5005, respectively. The legal status of the Crimean region is currently disputed.
