English: Image segmentation. The tomogram generated above was segmented by Amira to highlight a section of the B cell membrane (purple) and the 3D distribution of some of the gold bead labeled DR1 molecules. Gold spheres with a diameter of ∼15 nm were placed at the xyz coordinates corresponding to location of the gold beads in the tomogram. For clarity, the other aspects of the tomogram such as the nuclear membrane etc were left unhighlighted. Still images from segmented 3D volumes such as these are represented in Figure 3 in the main manuscript. |
