Summary[edit]

Description
English: Medieval wall painting on the north wall of St Peter's Church, Farnborough, Hampshire. Early 13th century. Detail of a consecration cross. One of twelve original consecration crosses, which would be lit by lamps on the anniversary of the consecration of the church, resulting in the burnt and greasy centre of the cross. Two more consecration crosses were discovered on the west wall in 1986.
