Uedem 2002 – 24 min

Seit rund zwei Jahrhunderten werden in Uedem am Niederrhein Schuhe hergestellt, früher in mühevoller Handarbeit, heute an computergesteuerten High-Tech-Maschinen. Von den unzähligen Schuhmachern sind nur noch wenige, von den vielen Fabriken eine einzige übrig geblieben. Die Filmdokumentation zeigt sowohl die handwerkliche Fertigung eines Arbeitsschuhes wie auch die automatisierte Herstellung eines modernen Sicherheitsschuhs. Interviews begleiten den Gang durch die Geschichte.
