Description
Deutsch: Wie entstehen menschliche Geschlechtsunterschiede? Am Anfang sehen Junge und Mädchen genau gleich aus. Nach der 6. Schwangerschaftswoche entscheidet das Erbgut über das Geschlecht. Ein Mädchen trägt zwei X-Chromosomen in sich und entwickelt sich darum vermutlich

weiblich. Ein Junge hingegen hat ein Y-Chromosom und sollte sich männlich entwickeln. Sicher ist das nicht, denn dieser Prozess wird von Genen und Hormonen gesteuert und ist hochkomplex. Bei jedem dieser Gene kann sich aufgrund einer Mutation etwas verändern. Das führt zu einer Vielzahl von Formen der Intergeschlechtlichkeit, die sich als Erstes an

einem atypischen Genital erkennen lassen.
