| Description |
English: Roughcastle tunnel entrance Leaving the top of the Falkirk Wheel, the Union canal passes through the Roughcastle tunnel. This short tunnel, the Falkirk Wheel rotating boat lift and a length of new canal were constructed to re-establish the long broken link between the Union and Forth & Clyde canals. The original link was via a flight of 11 locks at Greenbank, to the east of here. |
