“Waterloo 6mo 3rd 1826
Esteemed Friend
E.G.Faile & Co I shall ship to you this day 230 Bbls Flour 160 of Which is Paynes $70 W. Youngs Brand (Payne shiped 260 Bbls for me the 19th ult which I presume is at hand ere this as well as the 375 Bbls pr Capt Chamberlain, I wish you to send me 10 Bbls No 2 & 2 Bbls No 3 Mackerel, 1 hhd Molasses, 2 Bars heavy Rusia Iron, 2 Bars of 1 In Sqr Sweedes [inserted] Iron, 2 Bars 1 1 ¼ Sq. Iron & Enough Sweedes Iron 1 ¾ Wide ½ to 5/8 In thick to make in all half a Ton ship them pr Merrites 1 st Sloop to be forwarded P Chamberlains Boats which I have now loaded with flour to Troy It will be in Troy about the 15th Inst Your father called to see me the next day after I got home but as the weather was cold and the dust laid I could not prevail on him to stay any time with me he was In good health I think
