Summary[edit]

Description
English: Startle threshold measurement in experiment 2. The video shows the behaviour of a female, juvenile grey seal in experiment 2 (measuring the startle threshold). We exposed the animal to a pure-tone pulse when it was observed to float motionless in front of the feeder. In the video the animals shows a clear startle response (whole body flinch).
