Français : La pollution de l'air représente un grave problème environnemental qui provoque des décès prématurés et a des répercussions sur les écosystèmes. L'Organisation météorologique mondiale s'est engagée, lors de la première conférence sur la pollution atmosphérique et la santé, à contribuer à la réduction du nombre de décès prématurés dus à la pollution atmosphérique en fournissant des données d'observation sur les niveaux de pollution et des prévisions concernant les épisodes de pollution atmosphérique aiguë. L'animation explique comment se forme la pollution de l'air, en insistant sur le rôle des processus météorologiques et des services que l'OMM met en place pour tenir ses engagements. English: Air pollution represents a serious environmental problem causing premature deaths and impacts on ecosystems. World Meteorological Organization took the commitment at the First Air Pollution and Health conference to contribute to the reduction of the premature deaths from air pollution by providing the observational evidence of pollution levels and forecasts for acute air pollution episodes. The animation explains how air pollution is formed, particular reflecting on the role of meteorological processes and the services that WMO develops to deliver on its commitments. |
