English: Title: Pennington & Cos. aerial steam ship or composite ballon

Abstract: Print shows an aerial steamship labeled "New Era" that has a chimney at top and a house-like building on the bottom. Includes a portrait of John H. Pennington with facsimile signature and a description of "Steam Aerial Navigation." Physical description: 1 print : lithograph ; sheet 39.7 x 50.6 cm.

Notes: Publication date based on copyright statement on item.; The Library has two versions of this print.; Title from item.; lith. of P.S. Duval, Philada.; Inscribed in ink on lower right corner: Rec. 30 July 1850.; Forms part of: Popular graphic art print filing series (Library of Congress).; This version of the print has a hand-lettered "o" in the word "composite" and an altered spelling of cylinder where the original spelling as cillender appears as "cylender".
