English: A female House Sparrow (Passer domesticus) splashes water around as she baths in the Auckland Domain pond. Behind the sparrow is a female Mallard (Anas platyrhynchos), which preens itself and appears to take a drink of water as well. The audio includes the moving water and a chorus of native cicadas. Several sparrows were seen bathing in this area. |
