English: Newsreels in which Dutch subjects of a certain week are presented.
Old Easter habits are cherished in Twente. 00:00 DENEKAMP: - Children and some adults leave the Roman Catholic church in Denekamp; they're carrying bottles, jugs, buckets, and kettles of holy water outside; - a farmer's wife makes a circuit of her house, whilst blessing it: she makes the sign of the cross and walks, whilst sprinkling holy water, a.o. through the kitchen and the living room; the farmer does the same with the animals, on the yards, in the stables, on the fields; 01:12 OOTMARSUM: - "vlöggelen": the citizens marches in a long line, hand in hand and singing religious songs, through the streets, houses, bars and farms; on a square the crowd gathers and the fathers lift small children thrice above their head.

In Twente worden oude Paasgebruiken in ere gehouden. 00:00 DENEKAMP: - Kinderen en enkele ouderen verlaten de Rooms-katholieke kerk in Denekamp; ze dragen flessen, schenkkannen, emmers, en keteltjes wijwater mee naar buiten; - een boerin maakt, al zegenend, een rondgang door haar huis: ze maakt een kruisteken en loopt, wijwater sprenkelend met een palmtak, oa door keuken en huiskamer; - de boer doet hetzelfde bij de beesten, op het erf, in de stallen, op de velden en akkers; 01:12 OOTMARSUM: - "vlöggelen": de bevolking trekt in een lange rij, hand in hand, religieuze liederen zingend, door de straten, door woningen, cafés en boerderijen; op een plein staat de menigte bijeen en tillen de vaders de kleine kinderen driemaal boven hun hoofd. |
