Description
English: The Olympic Hotel opened at the southeast corner of Yesler Way and First Avenue South in 1899. This was the heart of Seattle's business district, at what is now Pioneer Square. The hotel building housed a number of businesses on the ground floor, including a real estate and investment company, the Cooper & Levy grocery store, and the Northern Pacific Railroad ticket office.

This photo shows the Olympic Hotel building in 1899 or 1900. A corner of Pioneer Square shows at the lower left of the photo. A group of surveyors stand at the corner. Several grocery wagons from Cooper & Levy stand along the far side of the street.
