The Olympic Block was built in 1890 by James Colman, who owned the Western half of the property, and the estate of Lewis Starr, who owned the other half; in early newspaper accounts the building was often referred to as the Colman-Starr Building. Charles Saunders & Edwin W. Houghton were the architects. The building partially collapsed during attempted renovations in the late 1980s and was subsequently demolished.
