| Description |
English: A flag map of America, Mexican Empire, British Canada, and Russian Alaska. This map is not 100% accurate to a certain date, but it is an 1800's map. If it represents one year more than any other, it's 1846, at a point after the Oregon border question was effectively resolved, and before serious fighting in the Mexican-American war had begun, but not recognizing Texas' secession from Mexico, or the U.S. annexation of Texas... Note that Canada was not actually unified until 1867 (Newfoundland not until 1949).
The flag of the United States used in this map is not that of 1846... |
