Summary[edit]

Description
English: Newsreels in which Dutch subjects of a certain week are presented. – Impression of the daily business on the sugar plantation Mariënburg in Suriname. SHOTS: - a field with waving sugar cane; - workers walk through the field, chopping sugar canes with machetes and making bundles of them; - the bundles are taken to the sugar factory with a small narrow gauge railway steam train; - in the factory the canes are made into sugar.
Nederlands: Bioscoopjournaals waarin Nederlandse onderwerpen van een bepaalde week worden gepresenteerd. – Impressie van de gang van zaken op de suikerrietplantage Mariënburg in Suriname. SHOTS: - een veld met wuivende rietstengels; - arbeiders lopen door het veld, hakken de rietstengels af met kapmessen en maken er bundels van; - de bundels worden met een smalspoor-stoomtreintje naar de suikerfabriek gebracht; - in de fabriek worden de stengels verwerkt tot suiker.
