Summary[edit]

Description
English: Nereocystis luetkeana kelp at Monk's Lagoon in foreground of a Russian Orthodox monastery at Monk's Lagoon on Icon Bay, Spruce Island, Alaska. The monastic building on Monks Lagoon contains a trapeza, chapel, small library, and sleeping quarters for people visiting St. Michael’s Skete, St. Nilus Skete and Saints Sergius and Herman of Valaam Chapel, built in 1898 over the site where St. Herman was buried on Spruce Island in December 1836.
