Summary[edit]

Description
English: National Theatre with grass on flytower. For a few weeks in the summer of 2007 two sides of this fly tower are covered in grass. It is the Lyttelton Theatre, part of the Royal National Theatre. The artists Heather Ackroyd and Dan Harvey have covered other buildings in grass before. See Arts Admin http://www.artsadmin.co.uk/projects/artist.php?id=40 for more about them.

The figure on the roof of the tower is one of many statues by (and of) Antony Gormley on rooftops around the South bank - collectively called Event Horizon.

View from Waterloo Bridge, showing walkways and terraces outside the theatre, and at the bottom the road in from Upper Ground. For another view of the National Theatre showing the tower of the Olivier Theatre see 24900.
