Description
English: Capt. James Brock, commanding officer for Test Platoon, 2nd Battalion, 122nd Field Artillery, Illinois Army National Guard conducts a live fire exercise with the Hawkeye 105mm Mobile Weapon System in Camp Grayling, Mich. 25 July. The test platoon is testing the Hawkeye as part of Exercise Northern Strike 19, one of the largest reserve component exercises supported by the U.S. Department of Defense. The Hawkeye system was developed by a collaborative team from AM General and Mandus Group using the M20 cannon from the Army’s M119 Howitzer and adapting a hydro-pneumatic, soft Recoil system.
