| Description |
English: At sunset on September 23, 1992, Metra Electric bi-level Highliner cars departed University Park, Illinois, with northbound train number 140. Metra was operating Illinois Central's former electric suburban line from Chicago, which paralleled IC's double track mainline to New Orleans, Louisiana. Train 140 departed University Park on time at 6:40pm. These former Illinois Central Highliners were built in 1971, '72 and '78, then transferred to Metra, Chicago's commuter rail service, in May 1987. |
