Summary[edit]

Description Mercury, the winged messenger, preserved wall painting. Former Post Office radio station Makara. Remarkably intact and now covered, the painting of Mercury reflecting the pride the Post Office had in its then high-tech radio services. In the style of the then fashionable Art Deco Moderne style. The inscription reads: BY OUR ARTS WE DO CREATE THAT WHICH TIME HIMSELF DEVOURS SUCH MACHINES AS WELL MAY RUN GAINST THE HORSES OF THE SUN
