Deutsch: Merck war von 1695 bis 1717 Hofmaler in Berlin und seit 1718 in Potsdam nötig. Hier porträtierte Merck eine Ulmer Dogge, die zur Hundemeute von König Friedrich I. gehörte. Die Dogge trägt das Monogram FR und eine Köngskrone auf ihrem Halsband. Das Bild ist seit 1860 im Jagdschloss Grunewald nachzuweisen.
