Français : Portrait de Marie-Anne Chardon, dite Sylphide (Sedan, 8 octobre 1768 - Liège, 28 avril 1828), mariée en premières noces à Gabriel-Étienne Poupardin du Rivage (mort en 1792), d'Orléans, avec qui elle eut deux enfants, Gabriel et Joseph; remariée (1794) à Jean-Marie Calès, député à la Convention nationale En pied, debout, la tête de trois quarts, tournée à gauche, vêtue d'une robe blanche qu'entoure une écharpe rouge, madame Calès tient de la main droite une fleur, et sa main gauche est posée sur un livre de botanique renfermant la gravure d'une plante au bas de laquelle on lit : « Sida crastifolia, P. S. Redouté, del. » Au-dessus de cette gravure, dans un livre entr’ouvert, à la première page, est le portrait de J. Calès, auquel est joint le titre suivant : Les genres des plantes de Ch. Linné, traduit par J. M. C....nierre (sic), édition en 2 volumes, première partie, à Paris, l'an VII de la République. Source de la description
