Deutsch: Dargestellt ist die Geschichte des Richters Sisamnes, der wegen Bestechlichkeit gehäutet wurde. Sein Sohn Otanes wurde anschließend als Richter eingesetzt und musste auf einem Thron unter der Haut des Vaters Recht sprechen. Cranachs Bild enthält in einer Art simultanen Darstellung in der rechten oberen Ecke die Häutung Sisamnes

Object history Teil der vier vermutlich von Joachim II. für die Ausstattung des neuen, sogenannten („Stechbahnflügels“) des Berliner Schlosses bei Cranach dem Älteren in Auftrag gegebenen Exemplum-Tafeln. Im 16. Jahrhundert kam die Tafel ans Kammergericht und kehrte erst zwischen 1811 und 1816 an das Berliner Schloss zurück.
