Jane Wigham regrets that the amount of contributions to the fair are smaller than usual. Sarah and Blanche Hilditch have had financial troubles. There has been a great deal of sickness. The autograph collector Mary Wiffen died suddenly. Some of the Glasgow people who gave contributions to the fair are sick. A box was sent from Newcastle. Jane Wigham asks for Gazettes. Mrs. Eliza Lee Cabot Follen visited and was present at a meeting of Jane Wigham's society. Jane Wigham met Captain Forbes, who she thought was a blood relative and a neighbor of the Westons
