Français : Un homme âgé coiffé d'une calotte et portant un habit de moine est assis à gauche dans une rue ou une cour menant à un sanctuaire dédié à la Vierge ; il tend un récipient dans lequel une femme portant un enfant sur le dos et un bébé dans un panier en équilibre sur sa tête, laisse tomber une pièce de monnaie, un panier par terre à proximité ; une fillette pieds nus, coiffée d'un couvre-chef, s'agenouille à côté de l'homme qui montre du doigt sa main libre ; au bout de la rue à droite, des pifferari se tiennent devant le sanctuaire, soufflant dans leurs instruments, dont un visible et qui ressemble à une cornemuse ; sur le mur derrière l'homme âgé, une image pieuse surmontée d'une croix, et en dessous une petite étagère avec une bougie.
English: An elderly man in a skull cap and monk's habit is seated to left in a street or courtyard leading to a shrine to the Virgin; he holds out a vessel into which a woman carrying an infant on her back and a baby in a basket balanced on her head, drops a coin, a basket on the ground nearby; a barefoot child with a head covering kneels next to the man, who is pointing witrh his free hand; at the end of the street to right, pifferari stand in front of the shrine, blowing into their instruments, one visible and resembling a bagpipe; on the wall behind the older man a pious image surmounted by a cross, and below it a small shelf with a candle.
