Summary[edit]
DescriptionHyndshaw Colliery, near Carluke - geograph.org.uk - 945918.jpg |
English: Hyndshaw Colliery, near Carluke The ruined walls are the foundations of Hyndshaw Colliery, which was served by the goods-only Castlehill branch of the North British Railway and was probably closed during the 1930s. The course of the railway line, which was closed in 1949, can be seen to the right of the colliery remains. The buildings of Hyndshaw farm can be seen peeping over the hill beyond the field of cows. |
