Description
Deutsch: Denkmalgeschützte Jugendstilvilla Hohenhof in Hagen, Stirnband 10. Ferdinand Hodlers monumentales Wandgemälde „Der Auserwählte“ (1903) im Empfangs- oder Verweilraum. Das Gemälde bestimmt die Raumgestalt und demonstriert den Anspruch von Architekt und Hausherr: hier wie überall im Hohenhof sollten die Räume selbst die Geschlossenheit eines Kunstwerkes erreichen (Idee des Gesamtkunstwerkes). Hodlers Gemälde ist 2,22 m hoch, 2,89 m breit und im 350 Kilo schweren Klima-Safe gesichert gegen Vandalismus, Diebstahl und Klimaschäden. Seit November 2016 nach viereinhalb Jahren Restaurierung wieder im Hohenhof.
