English: Common Snipe Gallinago gallinago, Serbia
Српски / srpski: D.t. 23–28 cm. Gnezdi se u severnoj i centralnoj Evropi, sevenoj i centralnoj Aziji i severnom delu severne Amerike. Zimuje u Africi, južnim delovima Azije i južnijim delovima severnoameričkog kontinenta. Gnezdeća staništa su močvare, vlažne livade i tresave sa niskom gustom vegetacijom, poplavljene severne šume i močvarne tundre. Van perioda gnežđenja koristi različita vlažna staništa (bare, močvare, vlažne livade i pašnjake, estuare, priobalne slane močvare i dr). Gnezda smešta na zemlju, sakrivena u prizemnoj vegetaciji. Hrani se insektima i njihovim larvama, glistama, mekušcima, račićima, malim žabama i semenjem biljaka. Evropska populacija je u umerenom opadanju. Vrstu ugrožavaju pre svega nestajanje staništa i neumeren lov u nekim zemljama. U Srbiji je retka gnezdarica, sa 20–35 gnezdećih parova (Puzović et al 2003), lociranih na svega nekoliko područja u Vojvodini. U periodu seobe je redovna i brojna.
