Summary[edit]

Description
English: Portrait of the four Takasu brothers. Photograph by Futami Asakuma. This is a memorable photo taken when the four brothers who broke up with their enemies and allies during the Meiji Restoration reunited after the Meiji Restoration. The four people who reunited on the 17th anniversary of their father, Matsudaira Yoshitatsu (daimyō of Takasu), in August 1758, went to the Futami Asama Photo Studio in Ginza 2-chome on September 3rd. They took a picture together. From the right, Tokugawa Yoshikatsu (55 years old), Tokugawa Mochinaga (48 years old), Matsudaira Katamori (44 years old), and Matsudaira Sadaaki (33 years old) are shown. It is recorded that they had a dinner at the Yokoami-cho residence of Keikatsu after the shooting, and that the shooting fee was met by four people, but it is unknown what kind of intention this shooting was done. [Meiji 11 <1878> Tokugawa Reimeikai Institute Collection]. They had highly influential roles during the Meiji restoration and were called the "Four Takasu Brothers".
