Heil und Segen diesem Haus – dies wünscht der Zimmermann seinem Werk. Sechs Monate harter Arbeit liegen hinter den Zimmerleuten des Freilichtmuseums, die in traditioneller Bauweise und mit Hilfe moderner Geräte die Oberbreisiger Scheune nachgebaut haben. Wegen ihrer schlechten Bausubstanz musste sie als Kopie im Museum wieder errichtet werden. – Der Film schildert exakt den Weg von der Baudokumentation über den Abbund bis hin zum Aufstellen des Richtbaums – ein einmaliger Vorgang in einer selten gesehenen Handwerkskunst.
