| Description | Event in progress at SIR, drag strip 13km from Saskatoon, SK, 23 Aug 2008. An alky digger is firing up, with a TV cameraman recording, while the chief timer hands a timeslip to a Pro Street Corvette driver. Note the ether bottle, for lighting the blown V8, in the crew woman's hand, and the unused parachute on the 'vette. The oildown tractor is just visible at left. |
