Description
English: Live images of phagocytizing hooded seal alveolar macrophages in vitro . Live images of cultured BAL cells were obtained as described for Videos S1 and S2. Five BAL cells can be observed performing phagocytosis of 2 µm green fluorescent latex beads. A maximum of six beads were ingested during a period of 6 h (cell number two counting from the left of the screen). Ingestion of dead cell debris are also observed (first cell counting from the left; round 10-15 and cell number two counting from the left of the screen; round 80–85).
