Transcript InfoField | English: On front of document on right: “N York Novbr 21st 1829 Esteemed Friend We recved yesterday fr genl Trotter 162 Bbls Flour 69 of which we have sold to a customer of ours (a Baker) at 4 5/6 and one bbl being wet, had no doubt been in the canal sold for $4 ½ – The remaining 92 Bbls we have stored thinking it more to your interest than to sell at the present market price – we could not obtain from Flour merchants over $5 ½ - Lee sold 100 Bbls at 5 ½ the balance at 5 40/100 Your last parcell of 50 Bbls arrived during a very depressed state of the market and would have been stored had we anticipated the small quantity we were to receive this fall – They were sold as pr statement below The lot would not bring over 4 2/6 300 Bbls of Ely’s brand were sold on the 3d Nov @ 4 2/ - With esteem yours Edwd G Faile & Co Nov 3d 7 Bbls @ 5 3/8 7 “ 7 “ 5 “ 5 @ 5 ½ 7 “ 7” 5 “ 6 “ 7 “ ----- 50 Bbls [next to each item in pencil was written the total dollar amt, presumably by Hunt 37.63 37.63 37.63 27 27.50 38.50 27.50 38.50 with the total 271.89.
